2023 was a brilliant year for The Backyard Photography Company, I got to photograph over 100 dog photography sessions across Northern Ireland & get to know so many amazing dog owners.

Sadie is only a puppy but that didn’t stop her squeezing in 3 different mini dog portrait photography sessions in Crawfordsburn Country Park, near Helen’s Bay, Northern Ireland and all before her first birthday.

Heidi’s owner, Amy, asked me if I could capture some classic dog photography portraits so we headed off to The Mourne Mountains, County Down, Northern Ireland to capture some memories.

Fia’s human, Kylie, had been given a gift voucher for a dog portrait photography adventure session in Northern Ireland. After chatting through various location options we opted for an evening adventure at Murlough, near Newcastle, Northern Ireland.

Sully’s human, Rachel, is the lady behind Batch Coffee at Cairn Wood, near Holywood, Northern Ireland making this the perfect location for Sully’s dog photography adventure. We headed out for a midweek adventure with beautiful soft evening light to capture Sully while he was still a tiny puppy.

On a sunny afternoon stroll through Belmont Park, in East Belfast, I stumbled upon some lovely golden fluffy grasses and instantly knew what I wanted to use them to create a dog photography portrait.

Baxter’s human, Amy, asked me if we could capture some classic dog photography portraits of the youngest member of her pack so we headed out to Cairn Woods, near Holywood in Northern Ireland to capture some memories. The weather was perfect for us and Baxter was excited for his woodland adventure.
